Chinese music: different styles
Chinese music is influenced by many factors from the Cultural Revolution to current day music genres. The older generation of Chinese people from the Mao era still listen to old traditional songs like like opera, instrumental music, classical music and piano music paired with ballads. Also songs from the 1980's when Chinese rock was first introduced to China is still trending today in addition to current pop and rock from this era. Also some of the older generation Chinese are still in the rock phase that swept through the country after the Cultural Revolution a few decades ago.
Current day China, Pop is very popular now from western influences and other Asian countries such as Korea, and Japan. The young generation listens to a broad range of music from hip hop to pop and rock to techno. This includes C-Pop, K-Pop, and J-Pop. According to Jane Tang, "Chinese are very into K-Pop right now more than ever, it is becoming a global trend today." The second most popular genre among young Chinese people are Soul and R&B. Also songs with piano or guitar accompaniment are very popular.

Aside from native Chinese singers, there is a popular girl group that made it to China from Korea,called Miss A. Their band consists of 2 Chinese natives named Fei and Jia and 2 Korean natives named Suzy and Min under JYP Entertainment.
Chinese music is also under constant change because of the international access to the internet and exposes young Chinese individuals to the different forms of music and genres from across the world and from Westernized influences.
